Rehearsal background:  Our normal rehearsal schedules are mostly on Sunday afternoons and/or evenings in St Leonard’s-on-Sea (a 10-15 minute walk from St Leonards Warrior Square station).  First, there’s several weeks of chorus music-only rehearsals with our very able music director, Kenneth Roberts.  Then our performance director, Fraser Grant, takes over most of the rehearsal time for subsequent weeks to explain to us the style of performance he is aiming for, and performance rehearsals start. One thing to watch out for is the intensity of rehearsals in the final performance week. You will be required on the Sunday, all afternoon and evening, then on the Monday evening we meet with the orchestra for the first time (the Sitzprobe), then you will be required to be in the theatre from 6pm every evening onwards in show-week for Technical rehearsal on the Tuesday, two dress rehearsals and two performances.  It’s quite a week but great fun, if not a bit hard work.

Notes on audition applications:
  • We will contact you via email (where possible) or phone with the results of your audition
  • Castings will not be notified to the rest of the company until all the roles have been offered and accepted
  • Rehearsals will start at the beginning of September usually on a Sunday afternoon or evenings in St Leonards-on-Sea
  • Please provide any dates for holidays where you will not be available for rehearsal.  Everyone is expected for all calls for the week of the performances and the week before (Sunday 12th October, afternoon, and Sunday 19th April - afternoon and evening - through to Saturday 25th April 2015 – all other evenings from 6pm)
Audition applications to be returned to The Chairman by Saturday 6th December 2014.  There is no guarantee of later applications being accommodated.
