Biography - Felicity Buckland

Mezzo-Soprano
Felicity trained at the RNCM where she was awarded the Eunice Pettigrew Prize, and later on ENO’s Opera Works programme. She studies privately with Mary Plazas.
Felicity’s current season includes Olga in Eugene Onegin for three different companies: Opera Up Close, Opera South East and Mid Wales Opera (cover.) She made her Wagnerian debut as Rossweisse in Die Walküre for Grange Park Opera in 2017. Other operatic highlights include the title role La Cenerentola (High Time Opera); Dorabella Così Fan Tutte (Baseless Fabric Theatre) Cherubino The Marriage of Figaro(Opera Up Close); Maddalena Rigoletto (Park Opera) and 3rd Lady The Magic Flute (Opera Up Close). She has spent seasons in the chorus at Opera Holland Park, as a chorus mentor for Birmingham Opera, and at English Touring Opera, where she also sang the role of Mama in Dust Child, a new piece for children with special educational needs.
Felicity is in demand for solo oratorio, counting Elgar The Dream of Gerontius, Handel Messiah, Mozart Requiem, Duruflé Requiem and Rossini Petite Messe Solennelle among her engagements. She performs and records extensively as a professional consort singer, appearing on Eric Whitacre’s Grammy Award-winning choral disc, Light and Gold, as well as being a singing tutor and experienced vocal animateur.
Upcoming projects include Paquette in Candidefor West Green House Opera, and her debut at English National Opera, to be announced very soon
