Biography - Jack Naismith

Since making his concert debut in July 2017, singing Schumann’s Dichterliebe, Jack has enjoyed a very active singing schedule performing throughout venues in South-East England and qualifying for the Coop competition in Milan. After repeat performances of his concert debut, Jack has organised and sung a number of arias and duets concerts, singing excerpts from operas by Mozart, Puccini, Bellini, Tchaikovsky, Lehár and others. Most recently Jack has performed a series of lieder concerts with the final performance being at the Colyer-Fergusson Hall in Canterbury, singing Schubert, Strauss, and Wolf.
Jack is making his operatic debut with Opera South East in this production of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, singing the role of Zaretsky, as part of the chorus and understudying the role of Onegin. In May 2018, Jack will be performing with Hampstead Garden Opera singing as Baron Douphol, in Verdi’s La Traviataat the Jacksons Lane Theatre, London. Throughout the summer Jack will be performing another series of arias and duets concerts throughout the South-East of England.
Jack has sung with OSE before. In the 2019 NODA award winning production of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, he sang the role of Zaretsky, and sung as part of the chorus, as well as understudying the role of Onegin.
Jack studied accountancy at Cardiff University and is presently studying towards being a chartered accountant through the ACCA. Jack has been privately taught by vocal coach Philip Spendley for 6 years, as well as Richard Cooke.
